boredom’s borders reach

just so far as imagination*

allows its inmates

*(“just so far as imagine” should be the seven-syllable second-line but I just couldn’t cut with a cruelty only editors know. And I have answered too many times the pleas of people both younger and older, more- and less-experienced: I never have been bored. I understand, intellectually, the concept. I just do not – nor ever did – find the time to wipe away my imagination nor my thrill with being alive in this wonderful universe – both between my ears and outside my eyes and when I run out of breath sometimes to allow input aurally – ever to find the time for boredom.”
