Like o’er-ripe pears

in a gentle high-up breeze,

do squirrels worry?*


  • (A second – or third? – treatment of the detritus brown dead tree limbs and parts left dangling high up in old oak trees after a hurricane, right in the midst of winter a’building squirrel pads, these fuzzy treerats too busy gathering the over-winter fruits for burying and stashing and gorging to note some of the bigger soon-to-fall limbs are right above the squirrel homes where soon little tykes will become prey to buzzing eagles and other carrion-catchers as the overhead neighborhood has a less-dense shielding of limbs and leaves to ward off cruising shoppers from above.)
