“Hi! My Name Are ‘Coon Ass’ He Said” Tanka 847

There was this “good-ol’e”

at ‘The Disable-Stable*’

with no middle-name.

“‘Good Ol’e”: polite for Cajun

‘Stable’: hurt vets’ drinkin’ hole!

  • (Coon Ass, he called himself and the other Cajun who inhabited The Disabled American’s Veterans lodge/bar in Sanford agreed.  Yep, Cajun, a youthful 70-something Marine who served as a teenager in Korea, said. “Coon Ass is Coon Ass.  Ain’t no slam on anyone.  Just our way of speakin about each other or ourselves.  I like Cajun better.  But Coon Ass is fine – and he do cook a mean gumbo. ” Yes, he did.  And God got the better deal in his all-time diner now. The possible misunderstanding about the prefix Coon when applied to Coon Ass is understandable – but that’s just someone else taking offense to someone else’ preferred name.  No call to get a back-up. Just is. )
