“Again*”


  • (A four-haiku exploration of a recent Vietnam War dream beginning and ending and middled in no special order.  The first entitled “Again.”

 

“Again”

Can’t pee for th’fear,

won’t eat ’cause I got just these ‘utes.’

And soon I stalk death.

 

“Everyone Needs A Hobby”

pickin’ at a scab

hard enough I must scratch through:

that would be sumpin’

 

“AnyWhere, AnyWwhen”

 

wamb beer and wet wind

not there but here…don’t matter

war is where you are

 

“Want My Mountains!”

 

I want my mountains:

these seagreen rice fields steal souls!

Up there…it’s all cold.*
